With a total prize pool of RM80,000, the JIOSPACE PJ Photography Awards 2023 is set to become a significant platform for photography enthusiasts to showcase their talents and creativity.
JioBuddy, in collaboration with Artishutter Studio, is proud to announce the launch of the highly anticipated JIOSPACE PJ Photography Awards 2023. This exciting competition aims to celebrate the art of photography and promote the vibrant life and culture of Petaling Jaya, starting from Section 19.
The JIOSPACE PJ Photography Awards 2023 is the brainchild of Sean Ng, the CEO and founder of Jio Buddy Sdn Bhd, who brings a wealth of experience in organising successful photography competitions. “Encouraging the Essence of Section 19 in Petaling Jaya: This competition motivates photographers to capture the vibrant life and activities in the Section 19 vicinity, home to JIOSPACE. This initiative fosters the creation of captivating photographic content within this lively community” says Sean.
The competition will also foster emerging talent, “JioBuddy and Artishutter Studio are dedicated to nurturing and acknowledging emerging photography talents. This competition provides a platform for aspiring photographers to gain exposure and recognition in the photography sphere.” added Sean.
Future Expansion Beyond Section 19:
While the inaugural competition concentrates on Section 19, the JIOSPACE PJ Photography Awards has ambitious plans to extend its reach to other areas of Petaling Jaya in forthcoming editions. This expansion will enable photographers to explore and showcase the rich diversity of PJ.
Unique Submission Categories:
The competition features three distinct submission categories:
A). Portrait@JIOSPACE:
All portraits must be shot within the vicinity of JIOSPACE.
B). Life@JIOSPACE:
Photographs should depict the life and environment within JIOSPACE.
C). My Section 19:
This open category allows photographers to showcase Section 19 PJ in their own unique way.
Generous Prizes: The competition offers substantial prizes, including a Grand Prize of RM8,000 cash (RM4,000 Cash & RM4,000 Cash vouchers), as well as prizes for: –
1st place RM6,000 (RM3000 cash & RM3,000 cash vouchers)
2nd Place RM5,000 (RM2000 cash & RM3,000 cash vouchers)
3rd place RM3,000 (RM1000 cash & RM2,000 cash vouchers) in each category.
Ten consolation prizes worth RM1000 each (RM500 cash & RM500 cash vouchers) in each category are also up for grabs.
Submission Period: Participants can submit their entries from October 15, 2023, to December 15, 2023.
Submission Process: The submission process involves two phases. In Phase 1, participants are required to upload their photos on their respective Instagram/Facebook accounts with specific tags: –

Shortlisted entries will then proceed to Phase 2, where they must submit high-resolution photos along with their personal details.
Add-On Activities: As part of the campaign, JIOSPACE will host workshops and seminars to provide valuable insights and knowledge sharing among photography enthusiasts.
Key Dates: The shortlisted photo selections will be announced shortly after the official closing date. The winning entries will also be exhibited at JIOSPACE, and the Awards Prize Presentation Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for January 2024.
