Boost adds Lazada Malaysia and McDonald’s to Growing Digital Partners Portfolio

Homegrown e-wallet Boost today announced that it has forged new partnerships with Lazada Malaysia and McDonald’s as a continuation of Boost’s efforts to drive seamless behaviours among digital providers to expand online and offline offerings, to build a robust cashless and digital ecosystem in the country.

From today, Boost users shopping in Lazada Malaysia can pay seamlessly at the checkout by signing in with their registered mobile number and 6-digit PIN for their Boost accounts. While with McDonald’s, users can use Boost to pay for both online McDelivery and in-store orders.

Mohd Khairil Abdullah, CEO of Boost said, “With spending and consumption behaviours, and business operations shifting online, the online space is a key growth area for us this year. We will be focusing our efforts to further expand our online offerings through more partnerships to encourage more usage between digital providers, as the realization of a cashless society requires a collective effort.

“This is part of our goal this year to chart the way into the now normal – a digital and contactless world – by building Boost to be the essential toolkit for everything you need online and offline through an omni-channel e-wallet platform. Together with our partners, we will push ourselves to introduce more innovative features for both consumers and businesses that will  enable easier and instant access to day-to-day lifestyle necessities at the tap of the screen. Concurrently, continue facilitating digital and financial inclusivity as we navigate the now normal,” added Khairil.

To celebrate the new partnerships, users can get RM11 off with a minimum spend of RM100 for today and starting 19th until 28th February, users can enjoy RM5 off with a minimum spend of RM50 through the Lazada Malaysia app by paying using Boost.

“As part of ongoing efforts to become a leading lifestyle destination for Malaysians, Lazada continues to innovate products that combines rewarding and entertaining shopping experiences with the best deals. This partnership with Boost makes a great choice for shoppers who are unafraid to embrace cashless digital lifestyle solutions and demand more value out of their purchases. We are thrilled to be partnering with Boost to offer this solution to our customers,” said Diana Boo, Chief Marketing Officer, Lazada Malaysia.

On top of that, users who use Boost to pay online for their McDelivery orders can also earn an instant cashback of RM5 with a minimum spend of RM25. The cashback can be used at any McDonalds outlet or online through McDelivery.

“McDonald’s has always been ahead of the digital curve. We first introduced a contactless way to order and make payments across all our restaurants in 2017. With this enablement, we are excited to have the homegrown e-wallet, Boost on board with us as our partner. Together, we enhance our customer experience through digital payment service at our restaurants so that they can enjoy their favourite McDonald’s meal fast and easy,” said Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia.

In addition and in conjunction with Lazada Malaysia and McDonald’s new partnerships, Boost will be running an ‘Online Festival’ until 31 March. The ‘Online Festival’ is part of the homegrown e-wallet’s larger #BoostGotYou launched last March as Malaysians learned to stay safe while battling the pandemic.
