With the popular use of Instagram amongst youngsters today, it is no doubt that millennials are absorbed into the selfie culture. Keeping this trend in mind, Xiaomi Malaysia sets up its own creative maze to showcase Xiaomi’s latest smartphone, the Mi 8 Lite, with its gorgeous gradient design and powerful selfie camera. Held at Ruang, Subang Jaya, media participated in a fun maze, to explore the front camera of the Mi 8 Lite.
The maze, designed to mimic the newly gradient colour of the Mi 8 Lite, Aurora Blue, was the main attraction of the event. It was the platform for media to be young at heart whilst discovering Mi 8 Lite unique features in an exciting challenge. The challenge was won by a group of Xiaomi’s media friends.

The Mi 8 Lite is the ideal smartphone in this very age of selfie generation, especially amongst young boys and girls. With over 24 million pixels, the front-facing Sony IMX576 sensor on Mi 8 Lite is able to capture images in great detail. The Super Pixel technology, a combination of four pixels into one large pixel, allows for vivid low light photography. This means no more worries of pictures looking dull and blurry at night. Meanwhile, the Mi 8 Lite display can light up in different colors to suit different scenarios when taking selfies, intelligently illuminating the face with the right color temperature for great-looking selfies.
Inspired by the works of famous French Impressionist painter Claude Monet, whose paintings are renowned for bringing out the effect of light on natural colors, the glass back of Mi 8 Lite employs an advanced NCVM color process, resulting in a mesmerizing mirror-like gradient finish. The 7.5mm slim body of Mi 8 Lite contains a 6.2 6-inch 19:9 LCD full screen display, with a FHD+ (2246 x 1080) screen resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 surface on the front.
Mi 8 Lite is now available in two setups. The 4GB+64GB setup for RM 999, available at Shopee Mi Official Store and Lazada Xiaomi Flagship Store. The 6GB +128GB setup for RM 1299, available exclusively at Authorised Mi Stores. Both setups come in two colours, Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
