Selangor (16 June 2014) – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Canon) recently announced the launch of its two new large format inkjet printers (LFP), the 6-colour iPF6410SE and iPF8410SE. These two 6-colour printers are part of the award-winning imagePROGRAF series. They offer a cost-effective and user-friendly solution to meet the demands of on-the-spot in-house printing in the retail and architectural industries, while not compromising on the quality and speed of its printouts.
The 6-colour iPF6410SE and iPF8410SE was officially launched by Wataru Nishioka, President and CEO of Canon Malaysia & Norifumi Kitajima, Senior General Manager, Canon Inc., Japan and witnessed by Michael Sak, Vice President, Regional BIS Product Group, Canon Singapore in the presence of 50 invited guests at a launch ceremony at the Canon Professional Printing Products Showroom located at its head office in Shah Alam
Commenting on Canon’s latest launch, Kitajima said, “We chose Malaysia to be the first country in South East Asia to launch the new 6-Colour iPF6410SE and iPF8410SE due to the importance of this market. Vibrant Colour and Enhanced Output Quality
The 24-inch iPF6410SE and 44-inch iPF8410SE both utilise the LUCIA EX pigment ink system. This translates to longer-lasting prints, significantly increased vibrancy in colour, and a wider compatibility with various media such as fabric banners and cloth. The 6-colour series features an additional Red ink cartridge on top of the standard Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and Matte Black inks. This allows users to print eye-catching images through producing a brilliant range of reds and oranges, colours of which are lively and vibrant. In addition, the high density print head enables the iPF6410SE and iPF8410SE to achieve high quality printing at high speeds.
Productivity-Enhancing Performance
The SE Series boasts a variety of features designed for efficiency and ease-of-use. By utilising the Fast Economy Mode, the iPF6410SE is able to print an A1-sized poster on plain paper in about 34 seconds, while the iPF8410SE is able to print an A0-sized poster on plain paper in approximately 56 seconds.
The option for high-capacity ink cartridges (300 ml for iPF6410SE and 700 ml for iPF8410SE) also helps businesses reduce the amount of downtime due to the need to replace ink cartridges. To minimise ink-replacement downtime further, both the iPF6410SE and the iPF8410SE feature the sub-ink tank system, which allows the ink cartridges to be changed even while a job is in progress without any interruption.
In other words, the printers keep some ink in reserve in their sub-ink tanks when the ink tanks run out of ink, which is used automatically as needed to enable ink tank replacement during printing. This prevents downtime and enables ink to be utilised completely.
Affordability and Cost-Saving Benefits
Through a product design that focuses on essential features, the SE Series offers a low-cost purchase option for small retailers and businesses. The SE Series incorporates cost-saving benefits such as low ink consumption through the Economy Printing mode. In this mode, overall color density is reduced to help cut ink consumption. Optional large-capacity ink tanks, which offer an additional cost-saving feature to the SE Series, are available to help contribute to a lower total cost of operation.
Optimised for Poster Creation
Both the iPF6410SE and the iPF8410SE come with software for easy and convenient poster creation. The PosterArtist Lite software enables users to create professional-grade posters without a background in designing.
In addition, the wizard-based Print Plug-In for Office enables easy large format printing from familiar Word or PowerPoint environments.
