PCs have always offered gamers two things they can’t get anywhere else: More power than any other platform, and the kind of freedom only their open architecture can deliver.
Our GameStream technology – unveiled less than a year ago – promises the ability to take that power more places, giving gamers the ability to stream their games to our SHIELD portable gaming device from the cloud or their PC.
Now we’re introducing an ecosystem of “NVIDIA GameStream-ready” certified PCs and Wi-Fi routers that will give gamers the ability to ensure super-smooth, low-latency gaming from their PC or the cloud, using gear from a wide variety of sources.
The big idea: gamers can play their favorite titles as easily as they can watch a movie on Netflix. And it’s advancing fast.
Two months ago, we moved GameStream out of beta, with support for over 50 games. A month later, we added support for 1080p at a silky smooth 60 frames per second. More recently still, we launched a beta service that enables games to be streamed directly from the cloud to SHIELD.
Now we’re hustling to put this technology in the hands of as many gamers as possible. We’ve been working with PC builders to create GameStream-ready PCs that have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX card required for game streaming and come preinstalled with NVIDIA GeForce Experience, which provides the necessary software.
