Xiaomi joins PUBG Mobile eSports 2021 as the Official Smartphone Partner

Global technology leader Xiaomi announced that they are the official smartphone partner of PUBG Mobile eSports 2021 for Southeast Asia and Europe markets in conjunction with the launch of Redmi Note 10 series earlier this year. Following this, Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore also shared news that they are the official smartphone partner for this year’s PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC).

The tournament (PMNC), organised in partnership with Xiaomi and Yoodo, will serve as a qualifier for the PUBG MOBILE Pro League Malaysia/Singapore Season 4 (PMPL MY/SG Season 4). Xiaomi will also be sponsoring Malaysia and Singapore’s top PUBG MOBILE team, RSG Malaysia, as they compete in the upcoming tournament.

“Xiaomi’s innovative technology through our smartphones aims to challenge the boundaries of one’s vision, sensation and speed. As the official smartphone partner for PMNC, we are excited to see PUBG MOBILE professional players, Mi Fans and our Malaysian and Singaporean customers experience casual gaming on the flagship-level capabilities of the truly affordable 5G-ready midrange king, the Redmi Note 10 5G,” said Nicolas Shi, Country Manager of Xiaomi Malaysia and Singapore.

The partnership highlights the latest addition to the Redmi Note 10 series, Redmi Note 10 5G, which features a captivating and immersive 90Hz 6.5” AdaptiveSync DotDisplay that is capable of adjusting to content automatically – from streaming video at 30Hz or 60Hz to scrolling social media feeds or gaming at up to 90Hz. The affordable 5G-ready flagship-level mid-range smartphone is made for entertainment and gaming enthusiasts, offering a smooth experience and optimum battery usage.

“The PMPL series has received great success over the past few seasons and we look forward to providing a platform for those who want a shot at playing in PMPL MY/SG Season 4. With Xiaomi coming onboard this year as our official smartphone partner, we are thrilled that mobile gamers can now enjoy a smooth gaming experience and flagship-level power-efficiency with Redmi Note 10 5G’s MediaTek Dimensity 700,” says Oliver Ye, director of PUBG Mobile SEA.

The PMNC qualifying round will start from June 1 to July 18 in Malaysia and June 21 to June 24 in Singapore. Qualifying Malaysian teams and players from the squad and solo categories will advance to the Zone Finals for a spot at the Grand Finals. The top 4 teams from Malaysia from the Grand Finals will head to the PMPL MY/SG Season 4, while those in 5th to 10th place will battle it out to be the Wild Card team in the league. Whereas, the top 10 teams from Singapore Qualifier will compete with 6 Wild card teams from PMNC in a PMPL MY/SG Season 4 Qualifiers Playoff. The top 4 teams from the playoff will advance to the PMPL MY/SG Season 4.

Xiaomi’s partnership with PUBG MOBILE will also include an all-star battle, PMNC Fight for Redmi Note 10 5G Showmatch, in which audiences get to choose their favourite PMPL players through a community voting to compete with the public. Registration for the showmatch starts June 4 on the Mi Community platform. The showmatch will go on for 4 days (June 19 and 20; and July 3 and 4) with a total of 16 teams battling each day, the showmatch includes selected PMPL players, Mi Fans and Xiaomi staff. A winner from each day will be selected and will receive a winning prize of Redmi Note 10 5G. The showmatch aims to engage with Malaysian PUBG MOBILE fans and Mi Fans alike, especially during this period of staying home.
