Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd is enhancing the online shopping experience for consumers who value product authenticity and quality, with the launch of its new official store on Shopee Mall, a dedicated in-app portal which houses official stores by brands and retailers.
Shell Malaysia believes that a strong digital presence with a clear selection of genuine premium quality lubricants on Malaysia’s no.1 e-commerce platform, Shopee, can help it reach and engage with a wider customer base.
The move will enable consumers to purchase directly from Shell as the brand owner. This provides peace of mind to those who are wary of the prevalence of fake and unauthorised products sold online.
Among the selection of premium Shell lubricants available is the new 0W low viscosity range comprising the Shell Helix Power, Shell Helix Protect and Shell Helix ECO. Shell Malaysia aims to encourage more car owners to choose these lubricants that provide better fuel economy and lower carbon emissions towards enhancing sustainability.
All Shell lubricants sold via the Shell Lubes Official Store on Shopee Mall are guaranteed 100% authentic and come with a 15-day free return policy and free shipping nationwide. Additionally, with the Shopee Guarantee feature, payment to Shell Malaysia will only be released after goods received are confirmed to be genuine and in good condition by the buyer.
The online store aims to offer more than just genuine Shell Helix passenger car and Shell Advance motorcycle engine oils with `Untuk Pasaran Malaysia’ labels. Soon, the store’s offerings will expand to include a variety of retail products such as Shell merchandises as well as Shell SELECT products.

Shell Malaysia has been actively monitoring lubricants being sold online. Through close engagements with various e-marketplaces, the company was able to clamp down on 179 online shops and remove 278 online listings in H1 2020.
On 23 July 2020, Shell Malaysia working closely with enforcement officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), successfully raided a location selling fake lubricants. Courier packets containing engine oil destined for online shoppers all over Malaysia were found on the premises.
