The World Electronic Sports Games 2019-2020 Asia Pacific Final to be held in Malaysia

Alibaba Sports, a subsidiary of China’s tech giant Alibaba, and Hong Kong’s Esports International Group (EIG) are bringing one of the world’s biggest esports events World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) 2019-2020 Asia Pacific Final to Malaysia, taking place January 3rd to 5th 2020 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Petaling Jaya.

A total of 61 teams and 260 players from 58 countries will be converging in Malaysia to compete in DOTA2, CS:GO, Starcraft 2, and Pro Evolution Soccer, for a share of the event’s $300,000 USD prize pool, as well as a chance to advance to the WESG Grand Final, held in Chongqing, China in March 2020. The total available prize pool for the entire WESG 2019-2020 season is $5,500,000 USD.

The APAC Final for WESG is co-organised by EIG, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), and SBS Events, with support from sponsors ASUS Republic of Gamers and Mayflower. Strategic partners include Asean First Venture, Brand Soul, eGG Network, and Fintechport. Official media partner is Astro and official ticketing platform is Ticket2U.

“Not only are we bringing back the APAC Final this year, it is the first time that we’re hosting this event outside of China, and that is a huge milestone for us,” said Jason Fung, Senior Director, Global Esports, Alibaba Sports. “The incredible support from all of our partners made it possible to choose Malaysia as our host country.”

Tickets start from RM 10 for a day pass and RM 850 for a VIP pass. Tickets go on sale December 9th  2019 on the Ticket2U website, www.ticket2u.com.my.

The WESG 2019-2020 Asia Pacific Final will be broadcasted live on eGG Network (Astro CH800) from January 3rd to 5th 2020. Visit www.egg.network for TV schedule. Fans can also catch a live stream of the event on Facebook, Twitch, and on the Chinese live streaming platform Douyu.
