Petron now accepts Boost Payments at Stations

Petron Malaysia expands e-wallet services at its stations in a collaboration with Malaysia’s leading e-wallet, Boost to enable cashless payments.

“We are excited to collaborate with Boost to create more payment options that are convenient and secure for our customers, besides the rewards and promotions. This is in line with our promise to customers to develop and offer more innovative products and services. Public acceptance and use of e-wallets is increasing rapidly, and our service stations are more than ready to fuel this demand,” said Choong Kum Choy, Petron Malaysia Head of Retail and Commercial Business.

“This collaboration with Petron expands our merchant footprint and is in line with our longstanding aim to drive cashless adoption in the country. We believe that this relationship with Petron will further encourage and give more opportunities for Malaysians to experience the convenience of going cashless as part of their day-to-day spending,” said Mohd Khairil Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Boost.

Petron partnered with GHL Systems Bhd, a leading payments company in Malaysia and Asean to introduce Boost at almost all Petron service stations nationwide. The collaboration also enables payments via all leading domestic Malaysian e-wallets such as Goodkredit, Grabpay, Maybank QRPAY, MBSB, Mcash and Touch n Go as well as cross border e-wallets (Alipay and Unionpay) which are presently accepted in Malaysia.

The CEO of GHL Group, Mr. Danny Leong said, “We are excited to be able to bring these cashless solutions to Petron’s network via a unified single payment acceptance device which can be easily extended to include other forms of cashless channels when it becomes available in the market. This milestone not only increases our payment acceptance footprint in Malaysia but further cements our position as the leading e-payment solutions provider in Malaysia and preferred choice by merchants. Our TPA footprint in Malaysia stands at 93,000 payment points at present and we are accepting 10 e-wallets.”
