Kuala Lumpur (5 April 2017) — Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today officially launched its stylish new SUV, the all-new Tiguan. Locally assembled in Pekan, the all-new Tiguan is priced at RM148,990 for the Comfortline and RM168,990 for the Highline.
The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s most successful SUV, and to date, 2.8 million units of the Tiguan have been sold globally. Drawing from this success, the all-new Tiguan has redefined new standards in design, comfort and functionality. Perfectly thought out from the first to the last millimetre, spacious and flexible – the all-new Tiguan appeals to drivers and their families as an ideal companion for their everyday business and personal lives as a genuine all-round vehicle.
A shortlisted finalist for the World Car of the Year, the all-new Tiguan is also no stranger to scoring awards. Since its global introduction, it had received numerous accolades, including winning the German Design Awards 2017, and the Innovation Award under the prestigious Plus X Award.

VPCM is offering the App Connect function as an option for the Tiguan Highline at an introductory price of RM699 for a limited time. App Connect consists of three technologies that allows you to bring smart phones apps onto your infotainment system and is supported by Android Auto, Apple Carplay and Mirrorlink. The original retail price for App Connect is RM1,099.

Engine and Performance
The all-new Tiguan combines a 1.4L turbocharged direct injection TSI engine with a 6-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG) to give an impressive output of 150PS and a torque of 250Nm between 1,500 to 3,500rpm.
It boasts an impressive acceleration of 8.9 seconds from 0 to 100kph, with a fuel consumption reading of approximately 6.7l/100 km.* This impressive fuel consumption level also earned the all-new Tiguan an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) certification.
Enhanced entertainment features
The all-new Tiguan’s infotainment system gives drivers diverse connectivity options and easy navigation. The interactive and customisable Active Info Display system comes with a 12.3” full color high resolution thin-film transistor (TFT), completely digital instrument cluster replaces the traditional instrumentation panel.
There is a preset of six different themes and different modes tailored to the driver’s personal needs – Classic, Speed and Gear, Consumption and Range, Efficiency, Navigation and Offroad.
Other features include a wide range of connectivity options through an 8” full color touchscreen display, while the head unit also supports the rear view camera and complete car menu and infotainment system.
Safety Features
The all-new Tiguan is equipped with key safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA), Multi-collision brakes, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) as well as hill-hold control.
Recognizing the need for child safety, the all-new Tiguan also comes with anti-pinch power windows and ISOFIX anchorage point for child seats.
Interior
An assortment of aesthetic and functional features are available in the all-new Tiguan, such as a KESSY keyless entry, leather multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters for easy manoeuvring, auto-dimming rear view mirror, cruise control, and Park Assist.
The all-new Tiguan is furnished with ‘Vienna’ leather seat upholstery, height adjustable armrest with rear aircond vents, 12-way driver electric seat and “Climatronic” air conditioning system with 3-zone temperature control for the comfort of all passengers. Rear passengers also enjoy the convenience of foldable tables that can be set to four different angles. The all-new Tiguan is also equipped with ambient lighting that illuminates the door lining and side steps for better clarity.
Exterior
Longer, wider and lower in height compared to its predecessor, the all-new Tiguan cuts a striking figure with its distinctive proportions and dynamic design. The all-new Tiguan comes fitted with 18-inch “Kingston” alloy wheels, and adaptive LED headlights and rear LED tail lamps. This feature enhances the drivers’ visibility in all-weather conditions. For convenience, the Tiguan also comes with electric tailgate.

Five colours are available – Pure White, Deep Black, Atlantic Blue, Tungsten Silver and Indium Grey.
