Sony launches three new flagship cameras at Digital Imaging Conference 2015

Looks like quite a crowd. What’s happening?
It was shutterbug Valhalla as Sony launched not one, but three top-shelf cameras at the Nexus in Bangsar South on 16th August 2015 .

Taking place on the weekend, invited guests and media were welcomed with an opening speech by Sony Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mr. Satoshi Hatano before the new trio of cameras were unveiled through a detailed product presentation of their salient attributes: the Sony RX100 IV compact camera that puts DSLR-grade hardware into a compact form factor, the RX10 II camera that offers exceptional 8.3x optical zoom as well as the potent new Alpha 7R II that was the star of the show,  packing a 42.4-MP full-frame, back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with 5-axis image stabilisation and SOny’s back side illuminated (BSI) sensor, the first time BSI tech has been used in tandem with a full frame sensor.

What happened next?
After the formalities were over, a select group of highly skilled Malaysian photographers stepped up to the stage and shared their experiences with the new cameras. The likes of wedding photographer Alexis Fam, videographer Baron Abas and photographers Nick Ng and Fakrul Jamil shared examples of their work taken with the new cameras .

Guests were then invited into the experiential hall where they were able to see and test for themselves. The A7RII retails for RM11,999 (body only) while the RX100 IV retails for RM3,799 and the RX10 II retails for RM5,299. For more details swing by www.sony.com.my
