Local outfit SNS today along with Intel showcased the launch of their latest smartphone and tablet, the JOI 7 Life and the JOI 5 both of which incorporate Intel’s new Atom x3 processor. The new Intel Atom x3 processor is angled at entry and value-level tablets, phablets and phones. The Intel Atom x3-C3130 processor that comes with the JOI 7 and JOI 5 phone is a dual-core 64-bit processor that can go up to 1.0GHz and offers 3G connectivity.
The JOI 7 Lite phablet comes with a 7-inch IPS display with 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution and, as mentioned earlier, runs on an Intel Atom x3-C3130 chip with 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage with up to 32GB microSD cards supported. It also has dual SIM cards, both of which support 3G. The rear camera is a 2-MP model while the front is a VGA camera and the device packs a 2600mAh battery. What is unique about the JOI 7 Lite slate is that it runs a stock version of Android sans any user inteface embellishments though it’s only Android 4.4. There is a Lollipop upgrade planned further along the road though. The JOI 7 Life comes in either black or white.
The JOI 5 smartphone has a similar processor as the JOI 7 Lite – an Intel Atom x3-C3130 (SoFIA 3G) chip and pairs it with 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage with support for up to 32GB cards. The rear camera is an 8-MP rear camera while the front is a 2-MP job. The front comes with a 5-inch 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution display. Like the JOI 7 Life, the JOI Phone 5 runs Android 4.4 with a slated upgrade to Lollipop later down the line. The JOI 5 smartphone comes only in a shade of gold for now.
Both devices are now available for sale at all AEON department stores and online stores like Lazada, Rakuten and Lelong with the JOI 7 Lite retailing for RM299 and the JOI 5 Phone for RM399. To find out more swing by joi.com.my
