Canon launches New Printer Brand in Malaysia – MAXIFY

Kuala Lumpur (10 March 2015) – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Canon), the leading inkjet provider in Malaysia for the past 19 years is proud to introduce to the Malaysian market a new brand of multifunctional and single function office printers called MAXIFY which is designed to multiply business productivity and offer cost savings for SOHOs.

To mark the launch of this new sub brand in Malaysia, Canon released 3 models – MAXIFY MB5370 and MAXIFY MB5070 multifunctional printers as well as the single function MAXIFY iB4070.

“By adopting Canon’s proprietary technology, the MAXIFY allows SOHO’s and home offices to benefit from 4 main features in the respective models, namely, low costs per print of up to 50%, a XL capacity black ink capable of printing up to 2,500 pages, Quick First Print in just 7 seconds and the MAXIFY Cloud Link that facilitates scan to email, webmail, Google Drive or OneDrive. In addition, these models come with 3-year on-site warranty. Thus, with these MAXIFY printer models, businesses can enjoy high-volume colour printing at a low cost and benefit from advanced security features, network and cloud connectivity features,” commented Jeffrey Kung, Assistant Director of Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd Consumer System Products Division.

Kung explained that the concept of MAXIFY multiplying business growth was attributed to the fact that the printer line-up complements both high and moderate printing demands. “With the MAXIFY MB5370 and iB4070’s built-in dual 250-sheet paper cassettes, users can print up to 500 pages with ease, forgoing the need to outsource high volume print jobs ever again. Alternatively, for those with moderate printing needs, the MAXIFY MB5070 can get the job done with its single 250-sheet cassette.

In addition, the MAXIFY range enhances cost savings with the XL high-yield ink cartridges for a high volume printing capacity of 2,500 pages for documents in black and 1,500 pages for colour. Alternatively, there is an option for the standard yield ink capacities packaged with the printers of up to 1,000 pages for black and 700 pages in colour,” said Kung.

Kung also elaborated on several other attractive features that make the MAXIFY range a desired option for businesses.

• Print Quality

Canon’s new Dual Resistant High Density Ink (DRHD) offers print durability with excellent water and marker resistant properties on plain paper. Amendments can be made immediately on freshly printed documents without fear of ink smudges; even common water spill mishaps will not pose a problem. There’s also remarkable contrast and sharpness. Colour prints exhibits photo-realism for business proposals to impress clients with quality print even on a plain office-grade paper.

• Savings
  Among the features that address the savings of costs, time and resources for users are :

• The Quick First Print which puts the first print document to be in your hands in just 7 seconds. On a day-to-day basis, the printer is expected to reach its maximum print speed of up to 32.5pages per minute in black-and-white and 24ppm in colour-draft quality.

• The built-in twin scanner sensors for double-sided documents to be scanned in a single paper pass. This increases productivity as you save a fraction of the time required by other ADF scanners. This is available in MAXIFY MB5370 which is Canon’s first desktop inkjet printer with this feature.

• MAXIFY’s Custom Profiles setting allows the storing of 20 of the most frequented copy, scan or fax settings for easy access when needed.

• The pre-set timings via the Scheduled ON/OFF feature in the MAXIFY MB5370 and MB5070 allows it to be turned off and on as per schedule, avoiding time in manual management

• The LCD Display monitors print, scanning, copying or faxing records with ease and tracks printing to gauge usage and prevent paper wastage

• Connectivity

• Both the MAXIFY MB5370 and MB5070 models cater to file sharing within the office. The Scan to Network feature saves copies into a desired shared folder within the office network coverage. Quicker access to important documents even when on the move is assured with MAXIFY’s Scan to Email feature.

• With Wi-Fi connectivity, users may even print and scan effortlessly from their mobile device via the MAXIFY Printing Solutions (MPS) app, which is compatible with both iOS and Android OS platforms.

• The MAXIFY Cloud Link service also allows printing from and scanning to a cloud storage provider such as Google Drive, Dropbox and Evernote as well as Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. Ensuring holistic functionality, the MAXIFY Cloud Link can be accessed directly from the LCD display as well as the MPS app.

• Security

• Setting Restrictions restrict unauthorised access to the printer and documents; an important feature when the device is shared amongst multiple users. Administrators may include passwords to secure their device and retain their standard printer settings.

• With Operation Restrictions, business owners can have peace of mind as their documents are secured. They may limit the device functions including disabling the front USB port to prevent confidential documents from being tampered with.

The MAXIFY MB5370 is available at RM 1,108, MB5070 at RM 908 and iB4070 at RM 518 respectively. These printers are available at selected Canon authorised outlets from March onwards.
