Nikon strengthens Product line-up with D750 and Coolpix S6900

Kuala Lumpur (7 October 2014) — Capitalising on the growing interest in photography, especially among the younger generation, Nikon Malaysia Sdn Bhd recently launched two new models – the revolutionary Nikon D750 and cutting-edge Coolpix S6900 – specially designed to appeal to the needs of amateur photographers as well as “selfie” addicts respectively.

The new cameras were launched recently in Kuala Lumpur by Mr Noriaki Yamaguchi, Managing Director  of Nikon Malaysia & Singapore; Mr. David Ng, General Manager of Marketing Department, Nikon Malaysia; and Mr. ST Hon, General Manager of Sales Department, Nikon Malaysia.

Lending excitement to the launch was Precious, Malaysia’s first Mandarin pop girl band who is one of Nikon’s ambassadors for 2014. Team leader Ke Qing and band mates Hera, Estee and Yin Yin wowed the audience with their captivating smiles as they posed with the new cameras and demonstrated the “selfies” and “wefies” functions.

The new Nikon D750 is the smallest and lightest Nikon FX-format camera1 to deliver incredible image quality in an ideal package of enriched features. The innovative model challenges the common assumption that the higher a DSLR’s specifications, the bulkier it becomes.

Aimed at a discerning audience, the Nikon D750 is a superior camera with similar full-scale features and performance as those in the high-end range to offer photographers the room to expand their capabilities and evolve their skills.

Nikon’s Coolpix S6900 is an ideal companion for those looking to capture beautiful self-portraits, and features a range of creative functions in a compact, stylish design. It offers self-portrait lovers a portable camera that can capture memories to share with friends and family at home or on the road, at a higher quality than that offered by regular mobile devices.

The affordable Coolpix S6900 also comes equipped with cutting-edge software editing features such as Glamour retouch, with 12 types of beauty and make-up effects, and a built-in Wi-Fi function, making it easier than ever to capture beautiful self-portraits and share them on social media.

Said Mr Noriaki Yamaguchi, “Many people are taking pictures using smartphones these days, and it has brought about a newfound interest in photography. And in this current market, there is a demand for taking high quality pictures which cannot be created by smartphones, but must be created by DSLR quality. I believe this demand will continue to grow in the near future, and I am proud to introduce our two new products to further strengthen our camera line-up and cater to these needs.”

“The Nikon D750 is designed specifically for serious amateur photographers, and comes with compact 24 megapixel DSLR with Wi-Fi and full HD movie capabilities at 60 frames per second. Meanwhile, the Coolpix S6900 features a selfie function to capture the current “selfie” and “wefie” generation. It comes with Wi-Fi capabilities to facilitate immediate sharing on social networks as well as cutting-edge software editing features to make you look beautiful. Most importantly, this model is very affordable compared to other selfie cameras in the market,” added Mr Yamaguchi.
