CARLSBAD, California (22 September 2014) – Razer™, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, and independent game developer inXile™, creators of popular titles such as Wasteland™ and The Bard’s Tale™, today announced a partnership that will see Wasteland 2™, launching today, integrate Razer Surround.

Razer Surround gives gamers an enhanced virtual 7.1 channel surround sound experience with any stereo headphones at no charge. Using state-of-the-art technology, the surround sound algorithms powering Razer Surround create a remarkably accurate surround sound environment and allow gamers to calibrate positional sound to match their own unique preferences. No account registration or installation of additional software is required for the integration.

“I’ve always been a big fan of Wasteland, so it was extremely rewarding to work closely with an industry great like Brian Fargo,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “With Razer Surround, Wasteland 2 can be enjoyed to the fullest, even by users that don’t have a full surround sound setup.”

Brian Fargo, founder of inXile, says: “I’ve watched Razer and Min grow to become titans in the gaming industry, so when the opportunity to work with them came about, I jumped at it. Razer Surround is able to stimulate the listening senses and will offer our players a way to further immerse themselves into the post-apocalyptic world that is Wasteland 2.”

Fargo and inXile are also looking to integrate other Razer SDKs into the game, including the newly announced Chroma SDK that offers intelligent lighting effects with Razer Chroma keyboards, mice and headsets.

inXile is a participant in Razer’s Indie Development Program that promotes the gaming industry by supporting independent developers with hardware and access to Razer SDKs. To learn more, go to http://developer.razerzone.com.
