KUALA LUMPUR (24 April 2014) — KakaoTalk Malaysia has successfully organized Bringing You Together-Gether™, a private meet-and-greet with the Malaysian Youtubers such as JinnyboyTV, Joseph Germani, Dan Khoo Productions, The Ming Thing and GRIM film last weekend as part of rewarding daily users of the messenger application.
In conjunction with World Hangout day, KakaoTalk Malaysia invited Malaysia’s top Youtube channels to come together as part of their Plus Friends partnership program to interact and hangout with their fans who are also loyal users of KakaoTalk. Invitations to the event were extended through the application and only 200 lucky fans were picked to participate in the event.
The three-hour event saw personalities from each channel go on stage to share about personal stories, offline processes of a video release, and also gave advices to aspiring youths to pursue what they love. Reuben Kang from JinnyboyTV, did not forget to remind the fans that there were also other things that should be prioritized apart from pursuing their dreams. He was quoted saying “Remember to study well. Studies are very important” in order to encourage the youths to always keep a balance in their lives.
As part of KakaoTalk Malaysia’s direction in encouraging togetherness in an epic group fun manner, the meetand-greet was a great way to interact and reward their active users. Users also got to walk away with exclusive Kakao merchandises when they were selected onstage to play rounds of charades with the personalities. Each channel had to act out four different movie characters and twenty lucky users who managed to guess the correct answer could bring home a Kakao Friend.
Fans prepared personalized gifts for the personalities, some even all the way from Penang and Johor. One of the fans, Jia Chyii, commented on her social media “Such an honor to meet them in person and have pictures and #selfies together-gether with the #youtubers. I even got the chance to have some gaming session with @jinnyboy on the stage. You guys are awesome!”.
The event successfully came to a successful end with support from sponsors such as Joey Yap Conference Centre and Zalora.
