DiGi Reorganises Management Team

Shah Alam (11 November, 2013) DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd is pleased to announce a refreshed organisation structure and senior management lineup that will lead the company in the next phase of its transformation, fuel future growth by ensuring deeper business and customer focus, and drive stronger cohesion throughout all parts the organisation. The new structure takes effect on 1 January, 2014.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Henrik Clausen says, “Over the past two years DiGi has executed sharply on our company-wide business transformation programme, with significant improvements in our network and IT assets, our go-to-market ecosystem, and in the way we build a people-focused and performance-driven culture. Simultaneously, we have continued to register steady and consistent revenue and market share growth, and have built a solid track record of bringing new and innovative voice and internet services to the 10.8 million customers we serve today.

“Looking ahead, we believe the key changes that we are putting in place will enhance the way we go-to-market, strengthen our overall ability to deliver on our Internet For All mission, and lead our employees through the next phase of our evolution,” Clausen added.

The new management structure consists of a change of roles for two key executives, and the addition of a new role in the senior management team.

  • Albern Murty, currently Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), assumes the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) with an overall mandate to plan and manage the company’s entire technology and product development value chain, drive deeper go-to-market readiness and customer focus throughout the organisation, and orchestrate strategic alliances with key industry partners and stakeholders. Murty has been with DiGi for the past 11 years, and has also previously helmed the role of Head of Strategy & New Business within the senior management team, apart from various leadership roles in the Marketing and Technology organisations.
  • Christian Thrane, currently Chief Strategy & Corporate Affairs Officer (CSCAO), will be DiGi’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this role, Thrane will be responsible for driving market innovations and revenue growth for the company by leading the strategic development and implementation of core consumer and business products, and internet and digital services offerings. Thrane has been with DiGi since 2010, and has played a central role in driving the overall delivery of DiGi’s business transformation programme, and in managing strategic engagements with industry partners, and government and regulatory agencies.

As part of this reorganisation, DiGi will now have an enhanced focus on driving its sales, distribution and channel management functions under a new division. Loh Keh Jiat, currently Head of Channels & Regions, will lead this new division. As Chief Sales Officer, Loh will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of distribution and channel strategies for consumer and business customer segments. He has been with DiGi for close to 10 years, and was previously the Head of Product Marketing and Head of Broadband Services at the company.

These divisions will be supported by the Corporate Affairs, Finance, and Human Resources teams. DiGi will announce a new Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) who will join the company on 1 January 2014, in due course. The Finance and Human Resources divisions will continue to be led by current Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Karl Erik Broten and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Haroon Bhatti, respectively.

Albern, Christian and Loh bring with them a deep sense of DiGi’s heritage and history, solid industry knowledge and market expertise, and a strong track record of leadership and performance. Combined with strength of the rest of the senior management team, and an experienced and capable extended management team, we believe we have the right set up to drive the next phase of DiGi’s growth,” Clausen added.
