Singapore, August 28, 2013 – Acronis, a leading provider of physical, virtual and cloud backup solutions, today announced the release of Acronis Backup & Recovery® for vCloud®, enabling enterprises of various size and service providers to complement VMware® vCloud Director® with self-service backup and recovery. It allows tenants and administrators to eliminate downtime and protect their virtual machines in public, private and hybrid clouds. Using Acronis’ innovative technology, service providers can now build a complete infrastructure-as-a-service offering using vCloud.
Co-founder and new CEO Serguei Beloussov brings his knowledge of service provider business, from more than ten years as the CEO of Parallels®, to Acronis’ expertise in backup. With more than 50 advanced backup technologies released to date, Acronis is now enabling backup-as-a-service with Acronis Backup & Recovery for vCloud. While VMware vCloud Director allows tenants to control their VMs directly, Acronis’ new solution provides them with additional full self-service backup of their Virtual Machines (“VMs”).
