KUALA LUMPUR (26th June 2013) — Logitech recently announced the new Logitech® G line, reflecting its new approach to PC gaming. The new lineup includes six redesigned mice and keyboard favourites and two new headsets.
Media friends and bloggers with a passion for gaming were invited to have a first encounter with Logitech G in a session filled with live demos. The event was made extra exciting when participants were asked to try out the products by playing a couple of online games.
The new G series lineup includes Logitech® G700s Rechargeable Gaming Mouse, Logitech® G500s Laser Gaming Mouse, Logitech® G400s Optical Gaming Mouse, Logitech® G100s Optical Gaming Mouse, Logitech® G19s Gaming Keyboard, Logitech® G510s Gaming Keyboard, Logitech® G430 Surround Sound Headset and the Logitech® G230 Stereo Gaming Headset.
In an earlier statement, Prasenjit Sarkar, Regional Director for Southeast Asia at Logitech, said: “With Logitech G, we put our passion for science to work for consumers. Just as gamers are compelled to beat levels, our engineers are compelled to test scientific theories and implement findings in product development. For close to 20 years, the relentless pursuit of what’s next has been our game – and we’re pretty darn good at it. With Logitech G, we will continue to push the limits of speed, precision, reliability – even intuitiveness. We do it because gamers expect us to push the limits as far as they do. Every inspired design choice and late-night engineering argument serves but one purpose – to help gamers play their best. When science wins – gamers win.”
“I really love the G700s mouse, more than other mice I’ve been using so far. The precision is accurate, the weight is just nice and most importantly, it fits perfectly in my hand,” shared Rinie Ramli, CEO of Spotgamers, who was one of the gamers at the session.
Using infrared technology, Logitech studied the interaction between the hand and devices during gameplay. As a result, gamers can expect to see several advancements in the new Logitech G lineup.
To improve durability and comfort, advanced surface materials were added to strategic tactile zones discovered through testing. For heavy contact zones, Logitech added fingerprint-resistant coatings, while palm areas feature a hydrophobic coating to help keep your hands from sticking. Depending on the model, the mice also have a soft or dry grip for increased comfort and control. The two keyboards feature a double UV coating on the keys for extra durability and long life, and a fingerprint-resistant coating on the faceplate.
In addition, the Logitech G100s Optical Gaming Mouse and G400s Optical Gaming Mouse feature exclusive Delta Zero sensor technology. Optimised for high-accuracy cursor control, this new sensor technology accurately responds to hand movements. Plus, all of the new Logitech G mice have low-friction polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) feet, which reduce drag when performing faster motions – for smoother cursor movements and improved accuracy.
Ho Xing-Yi aka The ShadowGamer.com on the other hand loved the design and colours of some of the other products in the G series. “The first and best thing that caught my eye was the colour on the G430 headset. I love the design, which is actually very good, compared to other headsets. I love the use of colour and hope Logitech will introduce more funky colours for future products,” she said.
“The Logitech G series are a range of products that embody our emphasis on putting science into our products. We are no longer just manufacturing gaming devices – instead, we are creating precision instruments for gaming,” shared Kuah Hsiang Nung, Marketing Manager for Southeast Asia at Logitech, who was at the session.
