vivo Celebrates the Story of Malaysia with VISION+ Mobile Photography Competition

In conjunction with vivo’s VISION+ Initiative, the smartphone brand is jointly launching a mobile photography competition with National Geographic known as the ‘vivo VISION+ Mobile Photography Awards’. The competition is part of vivo’s efforts to build a visual ecosystem and is open to smartphone users all over the globe.

To celebrate the launch of the competition, vivo Malaysia is inviting smartphone users in the country to take part in the global competition and showcase the beauty of everyday moments of life in Malaysia, and thereon stand the chance to win prizes worth more than USD 46,000 (approximately RM 190,000). The competition is currently open for entry submissions and will close on 20 November 2020.

With vivo’s recent collaboration with British-Malaysian photographer and Pulitzer Centre 2018 Grantee Ian Teh, Malaysians can take inspiration from his journey as he captures the story of Malaysia using the vivo X50 Pro.

Ian Teh captures the serenity of Malaysian life with the vivo X50 Pro

Ian’s journey, which is available on vivo Malaysia’s YouTube page, beautifully tells a story of the daily Malaysian life, coloured by the diversity of culture and the joys of small, everyday moments. Ian narrates his journey through the lens of the vivo X50 Pro to aptly depict his life as a photographer and photojournalist.

Through the global competition, vivo Malaysia is providing a platform for Malaysians to tell their own story and explore their creativity in capturing the beauty of everyday moments, all through the power of mobile photography.

The contest will allow smartphone users around the world to showcase their photography skills, in which outstanding entries will stand a chance for their submission to be entered into the international photography awards, where their photos will be submitted to a panel of judges, including world-class photographers, Steve McCurry and Michael Halsband. Winning entries will be walking away with the following prizes:

  • Picture of the Year (1X prize):

The vivo VISION+ prize of USD15,000; 1 vivo smartphone; an award certificate; and publication of winning entries in the National Geographic Magazine and relevant photography exhibitions

  • Category Winners (6x prizes):

The vivo VISION+ prize of USD5,000; 1 vivo smartphone; an award certificate; and publication of winning entries in the National Geographic Magazine and relevant photography exhibitions.

  • Honourable Mention (1x prize):

The vivo VISION+ prize of USD1,000; 1 vivo smartphone; an award certificate, and publication of winning entries in the National Geographic Magazine and relevant photography exhibitions.

  • Top 30:

1 vivo smartphone; and an award certificate
