OPPO launches PUBG eSports Tournament with ESPL and Digi, offering Prizes worth up to RM25,000
OPPO, the world-leading smart device brand, is collaborating with Esports Players League (ESPL) and Malaysian mobile telco Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) to organize Malaysia’s major eSports tournament with RM25,000 worth of prizes to be won.
Happening 6th July to 12th July 2020, the online only eSport tournament is the first eSport event with the new normal. Titled “OPPO Gaming Tournament Season 1”, the online only eSport tournament will be hosted on ESPL’s online platform at espl.gg and will be managed by ESPL Malaysia. The game title that the tournament will compete on is the popular Battle Royale game, PUBG Mobile.
With the ever rising interest in eSports worldwide, OPPO wants to deliver the best gaming experience with high-quality and well curated competition to players in Malaysia. The mobile gaming community has increased greatly, ever more with the recent Movement Control Order, and OPPO wants to open opportunities to amateur players in Malaysia to take the first step towards experiencing eSports.
The OPPO Gaming Tournament is divided into four stages; Qualifiers, Quarter Final, Semi Final and Grand Final. A total of 512 teams will be selected for the Qualifiers, who will compete for the top 16 spots in the Grand Final round. The tournament is open to Malaysians aged 12 and above and comply with the applicable age ratings by PUBG Mobile.
Prizes will be awarded to winning teams with the best scores. The breakdown of prizes are as follows:
- 1st Place: RM4000 and 4x OPPO Reno3 Pro
- 2nd Place: RM2000 and 4x OPPO A92
- 3rd Place: RM1000 and 4x OPPO Enco W31
- 4th Place: RM1000
- 5th – 8th Place: RM500
Registration starts 15th June to 2nd July 2020. The first Qualifiers will begin on 6th July to 8th July 2020, with Quarter Finals happening 9th July and Semi Finals on 11th July 2020. The Grand Finals will take place on 12th July 2020.
