Touch ‘N Go eWallet and National Kidney Foundation collaborate for a Noble Cause
Touch ‘n Go eWallet and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of Malaysia recently announced a fundraising collaboration for NKF’s underprivileged kidney failure patients. The collaboration between Malaysia’s first non-governmental organisation to offer haemodialysis treatment and Malaysia’s largest e-wallet platform will enable users of this eWallet to contribute towards NKF’S cause.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet users in Malaysia can now scan the QR code on NKF’s website and donate their preferred amount − with all proceeds donated directly to NKF Malaysia.
“It is essential for dialysis patients to come for dialysis treatment 3 times a week to survive. Every year, NKF needs to raise RM26.5 million to subsidise the cost of dialysis treatments for the 1,712 patients at our 27 dialysis centres nationwide. The majority of NKF’s patients are generally from the lower income group, who cannot afford the higher cost at private medical facilities. So, it is crucial they have access to affordable dialysis treatment,” said Dato’ Dr Zaki Morad Mohamad Zaher, Chairman of NKF Malaysia.
“As an NGO, we are grateful for the support and generosity of Touch ‘n Go eWallet and its users − provided through this fundraising campaign. We will ensure that the donations made towards NKF will be used prudently so we can continuously carry out our duties for our patients − keeping them as healthy as they can be. Together, we can fight this! Together, we can do more for everyone,” he added.
Ignatius Ong, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd said, “The Touch ‘n Go eWallet is consistently identifying ways to give back to the community especially to those in need. One of them is being able to provide a much more convenient way for the ‘rakyat’ to offer financial relief and a helping hand to vulnerable communities through local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in our network.
We want to do our part in supporting NKF Malaysia’s efforts through our user base of over 10 million by advocating a digital, cashless platform through which donations can be given.
This is more than just an immediate response − this is a long-term solution. Enabling NKF Malaysia with the Touch ‘n Go eWallet means that they now have a safe, seamless and quicker avenue to receive donations, 24/7.”
