Nestlé #Skuadkebaikan Milo: Goodness of Nutritious Offerings delivered to Communities Most in-Need

Seven charity organisations across Malaysia have begun receiving deliveries of #SkuadKebaikan MILO® food parcels, thanks to the generosity of Malaysians who made their contributions via Shopee in conjunction with the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

The eponymous ‘Goodness Squad’ is a campaign launched by MILO® in partnership with e-commerce site Shopee that has brought together the online community to channel the goodness of nutritious offerings from MILO® to where it is needed the most. It is ongoing until 23 May 2020. Online shoppers can choose any one of the four #SkuadKebaikan MILO® bundle packs comprising MILO® powder and other Nestlé products priced at RM25, RM55, RM95 and RM155 each.

All purchases are being donated and distributed equally among the seven beneficiaries nationwide serving communities most in need, including low-income families and those impacted by COVID-19. They are Food Aid Foundation, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Hasan Kuala Lumpur, Yellow House Kuala Lumpur, Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah, Yayasan Pesona, Persatuan Kebajikan Ummah and Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare).

On top of the #SkuadKebaikan MILO® bundle packs, MILO® is donating 10% of the proceeds from sales of MILO® powder and MILO® mixes on Shopee during the campaign period in the form of Nestlé products to the same beneficiaries as well.

In April, Nestlé Malaysia also pledged a contribution of RM15 million to support over 200,000 Malaysians under the Company’s “Nestlé Cares” umbrella as well as through specific initiatives supported by its different brands.

Maria Murni Nur Azmi, Consumer Marketing Manager – MILO®, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad said she was overwhelmed by the support that Malaysians have shown in looking out for one another, while keeping a safe distance, during these trying times. “Distance is no barrier to goodness, and we are grateful to our fellow Malaysians for their contributions to help other Malaysians stay nourished,” she said, adding that more than 600 #SkuadKebaikan MILO® bundle packs have been sold so far.

“We hope the #SkuadKebaikan MILO® food parcels go a long way in providing relief to our communities and offering the much-needed sustenance to go further in times ahead.”

For Food Aid Foundation, the donations could not have been timelier as the need to support the families and communities under its care continues to grow. According to its Founder, Rick Chee, “We are doubling down our efforts nationwide as COVID-19 continues to affect our beneficiaries, costing them their very livelihoods. The situation is even more critical now as Hari Raya is around the corner. These families – including the urban poor in Klang Valley – can barely cope, and as a result, have become fully dependent on our food bank supplies to survive.”

Volunteers from Food Aid Foundation help to distribute #SkuadKebaikan MILO® food parcels.

Meanwhile, over in Kedah where Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah operates, the #SkuadKebaikan MILO® food parcels will benefit communities in hard-to-reach areas where food supplies have become increasingly scarce due to the impact of COVID-19. “Many of our beneficiaries are struggling to adapt to life in the new normal. The #SkuadKebaikan MILO® contributions help to maintain the essentials as they continue to make those adjustments,” said its General Manager, Misbah Binti Dato’ Haji Abdul Hamid.

Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah is one of the beneficiaries of the #SkuadKebaikan MILO® campaign.
