Calling All Gamers – Yoodo Stay at Home Cup launched

Yoodo, Malaysia’s first truly customisable and 100% digital mobile service is calling on all gamers to show off their skills and grab the glory with the newly launched Yoodo Stay At Home Cup.

The fully online community esports tournament, which is open to all Malaysians, is brought to you by Yoodo and organised in collaboration with ESL Gaming. It will feature 4 separate gaming tournaments with the first two being announced today – Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) MOBILE and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The two tournaments will have a total prize pool worth RM3,600.

“The Yoodo Stay At Home Cup is our way of rewarding amateur gamers for playing the games they love playing at home,” said Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo. “We know these are difficult times for all, but there is still joy to be found even when you are stuck at home. We want to encourage gamers to connect through competition and showcase their skills to a national audience.”

The Yoodo Stay At Home Cup begins with the online qualifiers for the PUBG MOBILE Stay At Home Cup on 13 and 14 May. The 16 top teams will then advance to the Finals on 15 May, where they will duke it out in a Best of 5 format to determine the ultimate champion.

The winning team will walk away with the glory of a succulent chicken dinner plus RM500 cash and RM200 Yoodo Credits. Coming in second will net you RM120 Yoodo Credits, and the third-place team will win RM80 Yoodo Credits.

“PUBG MOBILE has been a mainstay with us at Yoodo and our users ever since the very first National Championship in 2018. Today we take it a step further by unleashing this community tournament on to the battlefield. To all Malaysians, it’s time to get your gear ready and go hunting for chicken dinners!” added Tuck Mun.

The Mobile Legends Stay At Home Cup will then take place on 29 May. The one-day extravaganza will be packed with action with a single elimination tournament leading to the final 8 waging battle in the quarterfinals.

They will pit their skills against each other in a best of 3 rounds all the way to the Grand Finals, where one team will emerge victorious. These legends will walk away with 8,000 Diamonds, RM250 Yoodo credits and RM500 in cash.

“This is just the beginning of the Yoodo Stay At Home Cup, very soon we will be announcing Phase 2. There will be 2 more exciting games coming very soon for all gamers to show off their skills and I can’t wait to catch the thrilling action,” added Tuck Mun.

The Yoodo Stay At Home Cup is the latest in a long line of gaming tournaments introduced by Yoodo following up from the recently announced Yoodo FV Major Cup 2020 which focuses on competitive fighting games – Street Fighter V and Tekken 7.
