Official English broadcast of Indonesia’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Season 5 Playoffs coming to esports fans in Malaysia

Esports fans in Malaysia will get to catch the official international English broadcast of the world’s most competitive national-level MLBB esports league thanks to eGG Network. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Indonesia Season 5 (MPL-ID) is entering its Playoffs this 10 to 12 April 2020, and some of the most skilled MLBB teams in the world such as reigning M1 World Champions EVOS Legends and first runner-up RRQ Hoshi will be facing off for a share of the RM1.3mil (US$300,000) total prize pool.

To watch the Playoffs, fans can tune in to eGG Network on TV (Astro CH800) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/eggnetwork) on 10th and 11th April at 1.30pm, and 12th April at 3.30pm to catch all the action.

“We are excited to present the official English live broadcast on eGG Network together with casters GideonQ and Qontra. The MPL-ID Playoffs is one of the biggest esports events around the region, however, this is the first time for MPL to hold a Playoffs event online. Although sports all over the globe has taken a hit due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re glad that esports continues to thrive with its digital nature and passionate community. We hope that the action from reigning M1 World Champions EVOS Legends, runners-up RRQ Hoshi, and the rest of the talented MPLID teams at the Playoffs will keep you entertained, as all of us stay home to fight this pandemic together,” said CK Lee, Head of sports, Astro and eGG Network.

The MPL-ID Playoffs will see Indonesian teams Alter Ego Esports, Bigetron Alpha, EVOS Legends (reigning MPL-ID Season 4 and M1 World Champions), Genflix Aerowolf, ONIC Esports, and RRQ Hoshi (MPL-ID Season 4 runner-up) battle it out for the US$71,500 (RM307,450) Grand Prize and a chance to represent Indonesia in the upcoming MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC). Teams AURA and Geek Fam did not make it into the Playoffs after finishing the Regular Season with the least points.

“MPL-ID continues to reach new heights as we have achieved a record of over 600,000 peak concurrent viewers in Indonesia this season, and our next step is to look beyond Indonesia to the rest of the world. For that, there’s no better partner than the region’s leading 24/7 esports channel, eGG Network. We have been working with eGG Network since the first-ever MPL and we are happy to progress to the next phase of MLBB esports together with eGG Network,” said Lucas Mao, MPL Indonesia League Commissioner and MLBB Esports Director.
