The Malaysia Autoshow 2019, organized by Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) was officially launched today, signalling the start of the largest annual Autoshow in ASEAN at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), from the 11th to the 14th April.

The Autoshow was officially launched by the Prime Minister, Tun. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

The Malaysia Autoshow 2019, themed “Mobility for All”, continues its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, highlighting the advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles as well as exhibiting the latest industry trends as the world moves towards connected mobility.

More than 32 OEMs and 170 exhibitors from 7 countries will be taking part in the exhibitions this year.

Hall A continues its signature showcase of more than 100 car models including the newest Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV). Visitors will also be offered special packages and deals, as well as special finance packages through its bank partner at the show.

For the first time, International Automodified (IAM), a touring automotive lifestyle community joins the Malaysia Autoshow to showcase modified and customised cars. This will create a platform in bringing together a community of car enthusiasts that have the passion in personalising their vehicles both in drivelines and/or body and panel.

The Autoshow leverages on MAEPS’s vast outdoor areas and diverse terrains to host various exciting outdoor activities, such as a unique 3km long test drive track, an SUV test drive hill and a truck safety awareness program, also MARii’s own Car Care Week program – a free 21-point vehicle inspection.

A journey through the entire automotive ecosystem in the MARii Mobility Hall

Visitors to this year’s Autoshow will have the opportunity to take a step into an immersive journey throughout the entire automotive value chain – the MARii Mobility Narrative.

The journey starts with all the upstream stages of vehicle manufacturing processes – from automotive styling, design and engineering all the way to the process design.

The MARii Mobility Narrative continues with a showcase of the various technologies and practices within the manufacturing, aftersales and mobility sectors, ending with a vision of Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem in the future.

The vision of the future – showcased through the “Mobility Township”, allows visitors to experience up close and personal, the capabilities of “smart” technologies and how our lifestyle will be changed.

Robotics brought up close and personal by Kinabalu Coders

For the first time ever, the Malaysia Autoshow will be hosting various activities related to Robotics through the “Robot Combat Competition” and “Maker’s Corner” – both organized by Kinabalu Coders, a community-driven technology team based in Sabah, signifying the capabilities of Sabah in participating in Malaysia’s future mobility.

Participants of the Robot Combat Competition will compete in various robotics segments while visitors to the Autoshow can join the Maker’s Corner to build their own robots and other smart applications, with experienced coaches and trainers providing hands-on guidance during the activity, all of which will be happening in the MARii Activity Arena, located in the MARii Mobility Hall.

This series of activities will be an interesting platform for all visitors to get up close and personal with technologies related to robotics, IoT and future mobility through a fun and exciting way.
