HUAWEI brings the Beauty of Malaysia to Life through Digital Art

In conjunction with Malaysia Day, HUAWEI collaborated with the National Art Gallery to host a digital art workshop which captured the beauty of Malaysia through the intricate art of doodles using its latest MediaPad M5 Pro tablet.

This initiative was part of HUAWEI Malaysia’s “Capture the Beauty in Malaysia” campaign, where the tech giant hopes to celebrate Malaysia as a great nation by capturing iconic elements that reflect the country’s beauty; while at the same time encouraging Malaysians to take up this form of modern art by utilizing the right tools. Such can be observed with the MediaPad M5 Pro, where participants were given an in-depth tutorial on how to express creatively using an innovative tablet.

HUAWEI’s collaboration with the National Art Gallery is in line with the center’s 60th anniversary celebration, which was officiated by the Prime Minister on the 4th of September 2018. The gift was in the form of a framed digital art, produced by local digital artist Chong Fei Giap on the MediaPad M5 Pro tablet.

The National Art Gallery is a statutory body and an agency under the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Tourism of Malaysia. It is the nation’s ultimate center for the development and collection of national visual arts, and trustee for the national art heritage.

Conducted by Chong, the workshop first saw an in-depth tutorial on creative expression made through digital doodle art on the M5 Pro, followed by an informative and educational tour of the gallery and activities surrounding its 60th anniversary by professional curators of the gallery. Participants were then given a printed version of their own artwork to commemorate their artistic efforts during the workshop.
