Kuala Lumpur (28 March 2017) — Sony Mobile Communications (“Sony Mobile”) today unveiled its ground-breaking smartphone, Xperia XZs, with a camera so advanced it captures motion that the human eye can’t see, as well as the stunning super mid-range model in its refreshed “X” series, Xperia XA1.

The launch of the two new additions to Xperia X series marks the third time that Sony Mobile is partnering with the online marketplace, 11street for an exclusive pre-order.

Xperia XZs

Among the first Xperia smartphones to feature a memory stacked Exmor™RS sensor with technologies usually only found on premium compact cameras, it provides 5x faster image scanning and data transfer. Xperia XA1
Building on the success of last year’s XA models, the XA1 features a beautiful borderless design to make the most of the edge-to-edge screen, cameras that are worthy of a high-end premium status and octa-core processor.
Camera expertise are taken from Sony’s digital camera division to deliver a leading rear camera for XA1 that offers 23MP high resolution with a large 1/2.3” Exmor™RS for mobile sensor, bright F2.0 lens and superior lowlight capability. You’re guaranteed a superfast journey from launch to capture in 0.6s and incredibly fast and accurate Hybrid Autofocus, so even the most spontaneous moments are always in focus. In addition, with 24mm wide-angle lens, the rear camera can capture more as compared to its predecessor.
Front cameras are the backbone of the selfie world and the 8MP, 23mm wide-angle lens on Xperia XA1 will let you capture all the action even in a group selfie without missing anyone out. The new model allows you to capture the perfect selfie easily with just a wave via the ‘Hand Shutter’ camera feature.
The beautiful borderless design introduced in 2016 has been refined to create the illusion of a seamless, never-ending surface with curvature that aids the perfect fit in your hand. The edge-to-edge HD (720p) 5” screen on XA1 is supported by display technologies to deliver a crisp, sharp viewing experience. Sony craftsmanship is clear to see with the diamond cut-like finish on top and bottom, along with the choice of materials such as the aluminium sides which create a rich feel in the hand.

Making life easier
The new products are equipped with a host of intelligent features such as Qnovo Adaptive Charging which monitors the battery’s health and adjusts charging current accordingly to avoid damage and maximise lifespan whilst Stamina Mode keeps your battery going for longer when you really need it the most by disabling some functions.
Sony’s Smart Cleaner cleverly manages the performance and memory of your device by clearing the cache and unused apps automatically in order to attain the best speed and performance without degradation over time. Additionally, it supports quick charging to give you hours of power with just a few minutes of charging.
Availability
The nationwide pre-order for Xperia XZs and Xperia XA1 will begin from 29th March until 9th April for RM2899 and RM1199 respectively at selected Sony Stores, Sony Mobile Stores, Sony Centres, authorised dealers as well as through 11street. For those who pre-order the Xperia XZs will be receiving exclusive gifts such as the SBH80 Stereo Bluetooth Headset, UCH12W Quick Charger and transparent silicon case with tempered glass protector which are worth a total of RM697, while customers who pre-order the Xperia XA1 will receive a DK60 Charging Dock, a transparent silicon case, and tempered glass screen protector which are worth a total of RM268.
The Xperia XZs will be available in Ice Blue, Warm Silver and Black while the Xperia XA1 will come in a choice of contemporary finishes; White, Black, Pink and Gold. The Xperia XA1 will also include Style Cover Stands available in White and Black along with a range of complementary accessories. Both devices will come with Android N at launch.
