Helmed by the acclaimed director-writer team of Lee Eung-bok and Kim Eun-sook, the geniuses behind the massive hit Descendants of the Sun, the storyline follows Kim Shin (Gong Yoo, Train to Busan), a handsome goblin – The Protector of Souls – who is desperate to end his own immortal life by marrying a human. He meets Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun, A Muse), an optimistic high school girl whom he falls passionately in love with. Kim Shin’s roommate Wang Yeo (Lee Dong Wook, Scent of a Woman) is the very attractive grim reaper – The Angel of Death – who in addition to taking souls to the afterlife, also happens to suffer from amnesia. The plot thickens with the introduction of Kim Sun (Yoo In-na, Secret Garden), the lovely and clever chicken shop girl who falls for the Angel of Death. The Goblin’s once simple plan to end his life, becomes increasing complicated as he and the Grim Reaper wrestle with their growing emotions and responsibilities.
