Kuala Lumpur (19 September 2016) — Audi Malaysia today announced the availability of the all-new Audi A4 sedan, which will be available at launch with a 2.0 TFSI engine. Speaking at the official launch event, Rudi Venter, Marketing Director of Audi Malaysia shares, “The Audi A4 is a very important model for our brand, as its popularity makes it the car that we sell more than any other model in almost every market worldwide. This means that this car defines the Audi brand and with this iteration of the A4, we are introducing a car that is bigger in almost every aspect, yet remarkably lighter and more agile, more powerful and exhilarating to drive yet also more fuel-efficient, bristling with technology and features but at the same time easier to use than ever before. Truly, progress is intense with the new Audi A4”.

Originally introduced in 1972 as the Audi 80, the Audi A4 marked the entry point into premium motoring. Across eight generations and almost 40 years later, the Audi A4 has always showcased Audi’s progressive thinking and innovative engineering in a matter that is accessible yet revolutionary at the same time. Now in its ninth-generation, the Audi A4 continues that remarkable record of pushing the benchmarks for its class.

Being the Centre of Attention is Not Optional

Audi’s commitment to the philosophy of building beautifully engineered vehicles is apparent in the all-new Audi A4 as it showcases balanced, harmonious proportions with sporty and functional design elements. The front of the Audi A4 sees a wide and expansive frame characterized with horizontal lines and dominated by the signature sculptured Singleframe grille flanked with distinctive LED headlights.

A precise and prominent shoulder line runs the length of the vehicle, giving it an athletic and elongated appearance, especially when coupled with the 17” 5 parallel-spoke design alloy wheels. Towards the back, LED rear lights with dynamic indicators as standard ensure that the new Audi A4 makes as much of an impression leaving as it does when arriving. Despite being an all-round bigger car with an increase of 25 mm in length and 16 mm in width, the all-new Audi A4 is up to 120kg lighter than its predecessor due to an intelligent mix of materials and lightweight design, also making it the lightest vehicle in its class.

The side mirrors of the new Audi A4 also now sit on the shoulders of the car rather than off the A-pillar, imbuing the sportier look previously only seen on the Audi TT and R8, but also improving its aerodynamics allowing it to clock in at a class-leading 0.23 in terms of drag coefficient value. This improvement in aerodynamics, coupled with other design features such as narrow strips to improve air flow on the side mirrors, subtle sculpting of the rear bootlid, sealed underbody of the engine compartment and minimized lift of the rear axle ensure that the new Audi A4 has the best aeroacoustics in its class, which basically means that from the inside it is the quietest junior executive sedan on the road today.

Fast, Fuel-Efficient, Fun…It’s All About the Drive

The all-new Audi A4 2.0 TFSI comes equipped with Audi’s latest 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that delivers a broad torque curve and impressive off-the-line acceleration for an exhilarating drive every time. Mated with a 7-speed S tronic gearbox, this powertrain combination develops 190 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque from a low 1,450 to 4,200 rpm, propeling the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI from 0-100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds with a top speed or 240km/h. Despite its sporty performance, the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI maintains class-leading fuel-efficiency with a combined fuel consumption rating of just 5.0 litres/100km and a CO2 emissions rating of 114g/km.

Making huge strides forward in terms of drivability, the new Audi A4 is not just sporty and performance-oriented but also comfortable and easier to drive than ever before. Built on the new MLB-Evo platform that also underpins the Audi Q7 SUV, the chassis of the new Audi A4 works in tandem with its electromechanical power steering system and newly developed five-link adaptive comfort suspension system with damper control to filter out road unevenness for passengers whilst ensuring optimal driver feedback.

As with all Audi vehicles, the Audi drive select comes as standard, allowing the adjustment of suspension, engine and drivetrain settings to suit the driver’s personal preferences and road conditions. The new Audi A4 also comes equipped with a host of electronic features to ensure an efficient and safe driving experience, including a start/stop system with energy recuperation, Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC), Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), parking aid plus with selective display, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and a total of 6 airbags.

Intense on the Inside: Improved in Every Way

Enter the all-new Audi A4 and you will enter a spacious and high-tech interior that is not just bigger, but more refined and accommodating than ever. Starting with a wrap-around cabin that is centered around the driver, the horizontal architecture that defines the exterior continues on the inside with a slim, floating dashboard marked with continuous Aluminum Ellipse inlays and air-conditioning vents that extend across the console.

The center of the dashboard houses the MMI® radio plus, which features a fixed 7-inch screen and the Audi sound system with 6-channel amplifier and 10 loudspeakers outputting a total of 180 watts. In the driver’s seat, the all-new Audi A4 comes fitted with a sporty 3-spoke multi-function plus leather steering wheel with shift paddles as standard. Owner can now also pick either the standard analog dials coupled with a 7-inch TFT Audi Driver Information System (DIS) with colour display or the Audi virtual cockpit with the optional Technology package, which replaces the standard instrument cluster with a highly customizable 12.3-inch high-resolution TFT monitor that presents information as needed with richly detailed graphics for enhanced ease of use and functionality.

Featuring electrically adjustable front seats with four-way lumbar support, class-leading rear seat space as well as a class-exclusive 40:20:40 rear seat split, which can increase the boot space from 480 litres to a massive 965 litres, the all-new Audi A4 is a versatile companion whether you’re travelling long distance, picking up your in-laws or heading to the links for a round of golf.
