Kuala Lumpur (5 NOVEMBER 2014) – Following popular demand and overwhelming response from previous instalments of the I AM NIKON Roadshow, Nikon Malaysia recently brought the highly anticipated event back to Mid Valley Megamall’s Centre Court.

Themed “I AM PRECIOUS MOMENTS’, the roadshow was held especially to encourage families, friends and loved ones to immortalise treasured memories through the lens of a camera. In this regard, this year’s event saw various irresistible promotions and offers on Nikon products to encourage the furtherance of the art and science of photography, which included free sensor cleaning for Nikon DSLR cameras.

“Precious moments that have passed can never be regained. This is why it is especially important to immortalise these moments by creating lasting memories with friends and loved ones. Beyond the cutting edge technology that goes into each Nikon product, we get into the heart of the image to what really matters most – to preserve treasured memories in our lives,” said David Ng, General Manager of Marketing Department, Nikon Malaysia.

He added that although taking pictures through smartphones and mobile devices were popular, there is still a strong need and demand for high quality photography equipment with Wi-Fi functionality in order to share pictures taken on social media. One such example is the DS300 which allows users to instantly share photos right after the shot is taken.

“The feedback we get from users of our cameras is that they buy DSLR cameras because they want to capture high quality images when they spend time with their loved ones, be it on vacation, or family gatherings such as birthdays and weddings. These are what we truly celebrate at Nikon and constantly strive to improve on our users’ experience,” added David Ng.

The thousands of participants at the roadshow were privileged to have access to a beautifully decorated homely set on site, complete with professional lighting, where they could take high quality pictures together with their friends and families. Participants were also encouraged to take photos depicting the “precious moments” theme in creative and imaginative ways and submit these photos for a contest to stand a chance to win Nikon products including DSLR cameras, the Nikon 1 and the Coolpix.

One participant, Chong Ming Chung, a first time camera buyer, always had the desire to own a camera, and finally got the opportunity to know of different Nikon products available at the roadshow and excitedly purchased a Nikon Coolpix P600 on the spot.

“Nikon understands customers’ needs by providing quality and affordable cameras. The camera is light and I can bring it along with me to whenever I go, to capture great moments of my loved ones,” said Chong.

“I can see Nikon improving their standard to deliver the best for us. I would like to buy a more advanced camera in the near future but for now, a Coolpix camera is sufficient and I am thinking to have a Digital SLR camera with better features in the time coming, to capture more quality-photos,” added Chong.

Besides being able to catch all of Nikon’s latest gadgets and gizmos on display, visitors to the show were also treated to a host of fun activities and surprises, true to the celebratory nature of the event. Lucky participants also walked away with great prizes.
