Intel Appoints New Managing Director

Kuala Lumpur (25 August 2014) – Intel today announced that Prakash Mallya was appointed managing director for Southeast Asia. In this role, Mallya oversees all of Intel’s sales, marketing and enabling of Intel products across Southeast Asia, one of the world’s most dynamic markets for computing products.

“With a young population and a rising middle class, Southeast Asia is an important growth market for Intel. Prakash has the vision and experience to lead Intel’s growth across this dynamic region,” said Gregory Bryant, vice president and general manager, Intel Asia-Pacific and Japan.

“I am very honoured to have been entrusted with the responsibilities of this position. As the country manager for sales and marketing for both Malaysia and Singapore, I have personally seen how quickly the market has grown and how far we have come in terms of technology and look forward to leading my team and Intel in the region to greater heights of success,” said Prakash Mallya in his reaction to his appointment.

Mallya joined Intel in 2000 as a business development manager in India. Most recently, he served as Intel’s country manager for Malaysia and Singapore. Mallya is an REC Trichy graduate with a degree in electrical engineering and holds an MBA in marketing management from BIM Trichy. Mallya and his family will continue to be based in Singapore.
