Kuala Lumpur (6th March 2014) – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Canon) has proven yet again its merits as Malaysia’s leading inkjet provider for the past 18 years by proudly announcing the release of eight new and exciting printers at its 2014 1st Half Printer Product Launch today. Designed to satisfy various printing needs, the PIXMA Ink Efficient E400 and E560, as well as the PIXMA iP2870, iP8770, iX6770, iX6870, MX477, and MX537 are set to impress every user, from students to the cost conscious, right up to those in the corporate and government segments.
Leading the way as the No.1 inkjet printer brand
Speaking at the launch, Jeffrey Kung, the new Head of Division for the Consumer System Product (CSP) division reiterated Canon’s vision to not only maintain, but to increase its strong market presence within the inkjet printers industry.

Essential savings, increased affordability
Some of the main highlights of the launch include the PIXMA Ink Efficient E400 and E560 printer models that promise users increased savings and affordability.
Students and cost conscious users in particular will be delighted with the latest addition to its Ink Efficient range – the PIXMA E400. Extremely easy to set up, this model not only combines basic yet powerful printing capabilities; it also features highly affordable ink cartridges. At only RM25 for a single black ink cartridge, the E400 is one of the most affordable all-in-one inkjet printers that lower the cost of operations. This provides users who do not want high cost commitments with essential savings they could channel towards other aspects of their studies and/or activities.
Those with greater print volume will also be more than satisfied with these ink efficient printers. Both the E400 and E560 models are compatible with the new high-yield ink cartridges, generating more prints per cartridge compared to other printers of the same range. This effectively reduces printing costs and downtime when changing cartridges.
From SOHOs to corporations
The PIXMA iP2870, iP8770, iX6770, iX6870, MX477, and MX537 models featured at Canon’s 1st Half 2014 Printer Product Launch also give users with more diversified printing requirements something to think about.
An entry level printer, the PIXMA iP2870 is ideal for home office users who require basic printing facilities for everyday use. Users will find this affordable model to have a good print speed of 8.0 images per minute (ipm) for black and white documents and 4.0 (ipm) for colour documents in A4 size of the same size. The iP2870’s print quality is also notable at 4800 x 600 dpi with 2pl ink droplets.
Meanwhile, the iX6770 and iX6870 models offer Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) users the option to print larger sized documents (up to A3 size) using the PGI-755 PGBK XXL ink cartridge that prints up to 800 pages per cartridge. Moreover, the iX6870 makes for a more convenient imaging solution within a shared office network with its wireless connectivity.
Design agencies and professionals within SOHO, studio and home environments will be able to generate striking and consistent monochrome and colour documents, thanks to Canon’s first-of-its-kind six-ink printer, the PIXMA iP8770, which comes with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Black as well as Gray.
Last but certainly not least, Canon’s 1st Half 2014 Printer Product Launch also included the MX477 and MX537 Office All-in-One printers that give larger business and corporate users the much needed connectivity and mobility in printing, scanning, copying and faxing, even while on the go.
The PIXMA Ink Efficient E400 and E560 are retailed at RM248 and RM398 respectively, while the PIXMA iP2870, iP8770, iX6770, iX6870, MX477, and MX537 are priced from RM 118 to RM998. All models launched at the 1H 2014 Printer Product Launch will be available at selected Canon authorised outlets from March 2014 onwards.
