LAS VEGAS – (9 January 2014) Samsung Electronics was recognized with numerous major TV awards at the 2014 International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow held from Jan. 7-10, 2014.

With various 2014 Samsung UHD TV models – including the world’s first 78” curved UHD TV and the world’s largest 110” UHD TV – winning CES Innovation Awards, the company announced that the UHD era has begun in earnest. To meet upcoming UHD standards, Samsung plans to launch a UHD Evolution Kit (SEK2500U) this year, as well as an updated Evolution Kit that was well received upon its launch last year. The UHD Evolution Kit also garnered a CES Innovation Award as the only device in the world that can support new UHD standards.

In addition, Samsung won the Best of Innovations Award for the third year in a row with its 65-inch FHD LED TV. The TV takes a big leap forward in performance thanks to a quad-core CPU and boasts blur-less images with a faster response rate of 240Hz.

“We never rested on our laurels but continued our efforts to offer the best viewing experience to our consumers, and our innovative products were again recognized as the best TVs at CES 2014,” said HS Kim, executive vice president of Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. “We will do our best to become the best TV brand that continues to deliver an innovative experience to consumers.”

Furthermore, Samsung UHD TV received many awards by major media on-site at this year’s CES. Engadget, an official CES Award coordinator, honored the Samsung 00” UHD TV with the ‘Best of CES’ award. Additionally, Reviewed.com – an outlet offering in-depth IT reviews as a division of the top 3 U.S. daily newspapers, including USA Today – recognized the Samsung 00” UHD TV with its Editor’s Choice award.

Samsung’s Home Theater System (HT-7730WM), which features high-def sound quality and a multi-network speaker function, also won CES Innovation Awards in the ‘Home Theater’ and ‘Home AV Component’ categories.
