Canon Introduces 3 New Additions to the PIXMA Photo Printer Range

Malaysia (2 August, 2013) – Bearing a commitment to continuously enhance the printing experience for its customers, Canon’s three new additions to its popular PIXMA photo printer range – the MG6370, MG5470 and the iP7270 are set to make photo printing even more exciting and convenient, especially with its wireless printing for an easy printout of a favourite captured moment.

Connectivity for the Digital Age

In meeting the demands of this digital age, all three printers have Wi-Fi support; allowing users to send their print jobs wirelessly from their PCs, notebooks and smartphones, and in the MG6370 and MG5470, even Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras, so long as they are within the Wi-Fi coverage.

Taking it a step further, the MG6370 and MG5470 supports seamless connectivity to the PIXMA Cloud Link service, enabling users to access and print online photos and stationery templates from the Internet directly from the printers’ interface itself. Also, Google account holders are given the option to print Google documents and emails via the Google Cloud Print service, and send their print jobs straight to the printers using their smartphone or PC, from wherever they are.

Convenient, Sleek and Stylish

Without compromising on aesthetics, the MG6370, MG5470 and iP7270 PIXMA Photo Printers have been specifically designed to maximise convenience. Both the MG6370 and MG5470 can be placed flushed against the wall, creating a cleaner and sleeker overall appearance within the office or at home. With its Snap Edge design, the front panel through which the ink tanks are replaced, it can be closed and hidden away, further preserving the printers’ smooth edge lines.

In helping to care for the environment and save on printing time and costs, the printers come with double front paper cassettes for users to load two different sized papers at the same time. Users can also opt for double-sided printing with the Auto Duplex Print function, as well as print directly onto CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs with the Direct Disc Print feature, eliminating the need for a separate disc label sticker.

Quality photo printing has never been more practical, convenient and trendy!

Honing Creativity

These PIXMA printers come equipped with My Image Garden, encouraging users to further discover their creative side and artistic abilities.

My Image Garden helps users to organise their photos according to any chosen category and allows them to create new content from old photographs that can be turned into calendars, cards and/or collages. Included in My Image Garden are programmes such as Creative Park Premium, Fun Filter Effects and Full HD Movie Print that users can explore and have fun with while printing. The creation of new content can also be done directly from Facebook through the dedicated Facebook application, Print Your Days.

Advanced Technology for Superior Prints

Users are set to be impressed by Canon’s proprietary FINE (Full-photolithograpy Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology as all three printer models are able to produce high resolution prints of up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, thanks to their high density microscopic nozzles that create ink droplets as small as 1pl. The FINE technology also allows for speedier print outputs, taking just 21 seconds for a 4” x 6” borderless photo. Meanwhile, black and white documents are printed at 15 images per minute (ipm), and colour A4 documents at approximately 10ipm.

Besides that, all three PIXMA printers incorporate a Hybrid system that effectively generates both photos and documents of superior quality. Colours generated are smoother and richer even when printing on plain paper, as these printers operate with a new type of ink that enhances the Red spectrum.

In addition, the ChromaLife100+ system serves to extend the life span of photographs by effectively protecting them against harmful external elements such as light, gases and high humidity. As a result of this system, photographs that are printed on Canon’s photo paper, can last up to 300 years when kept in a photo album.

The MG6370 is priced at RM698, the MG5470 at RM488 and iP7270 at RM368. These PIXMA Photo printers are now available at selected Canon authorised outlets.
